Code of Conduct for KOS Partners

The Code of Conduct for KOS Partners (hereinafter referred to as the “Code”) stipulates the basic requirements of partners who supply products and services to KOS, and has been established to build a sustainable supply chain. KOS requires its partners to continuously strive to protect the environment, establish a safe working environment, respect the human rights of employees, and operate the company ethically. This code reflects the parts that should be applied to our company and our partner companies by analyzing various data from leading companies in Korea that were prepared with reference to the guidelines and norms of credible organizations abroad.

KOS partners are required to comply with all relevant laws and regulations, and KOS and third-party organizations entrusted by KOS may inspect and conduct due diligence on partners' compliance with the requirements of this code to the extent permitted by law. Based on the results of inspection and due diligence on compliance with this code, KOS may recommend improvements for identified risks and may require the establishment and implementation of a risk mitigation plan based on mutual consultation regarding improvements.

This code does not specify all performance obligations of partners, and may be reviewed, supplemented, and revised to build a sustainable supply chain. This code is available on the KOS website, and for specific details regarding this code, please contact the Audit Team and ESG Team.

3. Environmental Protection

 

a. Compliance with environmental laws and regulations

① Partners must comply with the environmental laws and regulations of the country in which they conduct business, and must obtain and maintain all environmental-related licenses and permits necessary for business operations.

② Partners are recommended to operate an *environmental management system consisting of organization, planning, procedure, and result inspection to mitigate the environmental impact of business operations.

(*ISO14001 Standard, etc.) 

 

 

b. Environmental pollution prevention activities and reduction of resource and energy use 

① Partners must continuously carry out activities such as improving production processes, improving facility efficiency, using alternative raw materials, and recycling/reusing to prevent environmental pollution and reduce resource and energy use.

 

 

c. Chemical management 

① Partners must strive to safely manage chemicals handled during business operations and disclose relevant information to so that risks and harms can be identified.

② Partners must strive to check whether the raw materials they handle contain substances harmful to the human body or the environment.

 

 

d. waste management 

① Partners must identify the characteristics of waste generated during business operations, dispose thereof after processing in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and strive to reduce the amount generated.

 

 

e. Air pollutant management 

① Partners must establish a system to measure air pollutant emissions.

② Partners must minimize air pollutant emissions through appropriate methods and, to this end, must manage them in accordance with legal standards or higher internal standards.

 

 

f. Water resources management 

① Partners must manage substances generated during business operations that may affect water resources in accordance with legal standards or higher internal standards.

② Partners must strive to reduce water resource use and increase recycling.

 

 

g. Greenhouse gas emissions management 

① Partners must establish a system to measure greenhouse gas emissions and strive to reduce them.

② KOS may request information on greenhouse gas emissions in the form of carbon dioxide equivalent from partners.
