Code of Conduct for KOS Partners

The Code of Conduct for KOS Partners (hereinafter referred to as the “Code”) stipulates the basic requirements of partners who supply products and services to KOS, and has been established to build a sustainable supply chain. KOS requires its partners to continuously strive to protect the environment, establish a safe working environment, respect the human rights of employees, and operate the company ethically. This code reflects the parts that should be applied to our company and our partner companies by analyzing various data from leading companies in Korea that were prepared with reference to the guidelines and norms of credible organizations abroad.

KOS partners are required to comply with all relevant laws and regulations, and KOS and third-party organizations entrusted by KOS may inspect and conduct due diligence on partners' compliance with the requirements of this code to the extent permitted by law. Based on the results of inspection and due diligence on compliance with this code, KOS may recommend improvements for identified risks and may require the establishment and implementation of a risk mitigation plan based on mutual consultation regarding improvements.

This code does not specify all performance obligations of partners, and may be reviewed, supplemented, and revised to build a sustainable supply chain. This code is available on the KOS website, and for specific details regarding this code, please contact the Audit Team and ESG Team.

2. Safety and Health

 

a. Occupational safety (Establishment of safety and health management system)

① Partners must comply with the safety and health-related laws and regulations of the country in which they conduct business, and must obtain and maintain safety and health-related licenses and permits necessary for business operation. 

② Partners are recommended to operate a *safety and health management system consisting of organization, planning, procedure, and result inspection to prevent safety and health accidents related to business operations.

(*ISO45001, KOSHA18001 Standards, and etc.)

 

 

b. Occupational safety (Risk identification and education) 

① Partners must identify the possibility of exposure of executives and employees to risk factors and, based on the evaluation results, must design safe processes, conduct technical and administrative control, conduct preventive maintenance, establish safety regulations, and conduct continuous education.

② Partners must provide safety protective equipment to protect individual executives and employees. Safety protective equipment must be easy and convenient to use for employees for employees to use, must be managed and supervised for proper wearing, and must be maintained and managed to ensure normal performance.

 

 

c. Emergency response 

① Partners must identify and evaluate potential emergencies and accidents, such as natural disasters, group infections, fires, and safety accidents, in advance. In addition, they must have a manual consisting of reporting, response, and follow-up measures in the event of an emergency, 

② Partners must conduct drills in accordance with the laws of the country in which they conduct business as well as their own established plans and manuals to prepare for emergency situations.

③ Partners must be equipped with escape routes, guidance lights, fire detectors/alarms, firefighting facilities, etc. to be used in emergency situations, and must regularly check to see if they are operating normally.

 

 

d. Prevention of industrial accidents and diseases 

① Partners must establish a system to measure the occurrence of industrial accidents or diseases.

② In the event of an industrial accident or serious disease, partners must immediately stop the relevant work and take necessary measures, such as evacuating executives and employees.

③ In the event of an industrial accident or serious disease, partners must investigate the cause and strive to prepare improvement measures.

 

 

e. Management of hazards in the work environment 

① Partners must regularly measure whether executives and employees are exposed to hazards such as hazardous chemicals, noise, dust, etc. to determine the impact, regularly evaluate to ensure that exposure does not exceed the standard level, and based on the results, take appropriate measures such as improving machinery, instrument, and equipment.

 

 

f. Safety management of machinery, instrument, and equipment 

① Partners must classify hazardous equipment in their workplace and conduct safety inspections on a regular basis.

② Partners must install and manage safety devices, protective walls, emergency devices, etc. to prevent safety accidents resulting from the use of harmful or dangerous machinery, instruments, and equipment in the workplace.

 

 

g. Provision of dormitories and sanitary facilities 

① Partners may provide rest areas, restrooms, restaurants, etc. to executives and employees, and when providing such facilities, they must strive to maintain cleanliness and hygienic safety.

② Partners may provide dormitories to executives and employees, and when providing dormitories, they must provide firefighting facilities, lighting, heating/cooling, ventilation facilities, and appropriate personal space. In addition, they must provide a safe environment by granting appropriate access rights to dormitories.



h. Safety and health education 

① Partners must regularly conduct necessary safety and health education for executives and employees.

② Partners must keep safety and health information that executives and employees need to know in a conspicuous place and post it in a language that executives and employees can understand.
